Kathryn G. Carlson, has extensive experience in family law. For over 30 years, divorce, equitable distribution of marital property, alimony, child and spousal support, child custody, prenuptial and property settlement agreements and protection from abuse have been the focus of Kathryn G. Carlson's law practice. In addition, Ms. Carlson drafts wills, trusts, powers of attorney and probates decedents’ estates.
After law school, Ms. Carlson became a judicial law clerk to a judge in the Family and Orphans Court Divisions of the Court of Common Pleas of Bucks County, Pennsylvania. In 1980, when no-fault divorce and the equitable distribution of marital property came to Pennsylvania, Ms. Carlson helped draft the Bucks County Court rules implementing the new law.
In 1982, Ms. Carlson was appointed as the first Bucks County Master in Divorce. She developed many of the procedures still used by the current Family Masters Office. As a divorce Master, Ms. Carlson presided over masters hearings on the issues of the equitable distribution of marital property, alimony, awards of counsel fees and grounds for divorce.
Ms. Carlson gives each client personal attention. She knows that families come first and that cooperation and collaboration are the best ways to meet the needs of families in turmoil. She works closely with clients to settle cases but is ready to litigate when necessary. She represents clients in Domestic Relations support conferences, in masters hearings for divorce and property division and in custody conferences, and litigates her clients' claims at hearings before judges.
